The Hear to Help project offers hearing aid maintenance, support and information to hearing aid users across the whole of Tayside.

An Action on Hearing Loss Virtual Volunteer is an ideal opportunity for anyone who loves to surf the net and is keen to volunteer but can’t commit to specific times. You will: Support our campaigns; Raise awareness for our work by connecting with friends and family and promoting our work; Raise funds for Action on Hearing Loss through online activity such as eBay; Check our services and provide feedback on our publications and information; Raise awareness of our work in the community and motivating groups to fundraise for us; Provide ongoing feedback about your activities.

The role of an Information Stand Assistant, is diverse, from promoting the work we do at information stands, including using pop-up stands and arranging leaflets on a table, using materials provided by Action on Hearing Loss, carrying out basic hearing screenings, where appropriate to Follow health and safety guidelines and complete risk assessments.

You will also be required to: Collect leaflets and equipment from Head Office and take them to the venue; Answer questions from visitors to the stand and hand out leaflets, as appropriate; Complete enquiry forms if you are unable to provide the information, and pass the form to the Information Officer to follow up; Monitor the number of enquiries at each session and collect feedback from all service users to share with the Information Officer; Meet with Action on Hearing Loss staff and other volunteers to discuss the project and suggest any improvements.

As a Volunteer Team Leader, you will have a vital role delivering information services in your local community, and for raising awareness of the work of AOHL. We are looking for someone with experience of managing or working with small groups and teams; You may not have knowledge of, but are willing to learn about issues affecting deaf and hard of hearing people, particularly older people;

As part of your role, you will be required to: Ensure volunteers complete Risk Assessments and checklists; Raise awareness of hearing loss and offer appropriate publications/materials; Motivate older people who have hearing loss to access the services available and direct any medical or other specific questions to the Regional Information Officer; Sign post to other agencies or services that may be beneficial to the service user; Ensure data is collected at all information activities; Meet AOHL staff and volunteers to discuss the project and suggest any improvements.
