PSYV’s senior youth volunteer Holly Scott is another deserving Saltire Summit Award recipient at this year’s Inspire Awards. Holly has volunteered with PSYV for approaching three years starting out as a shy individual, but whose experience has allowed her to blossom into a confident role model.
Over the years Holly’s commitment and hard work has been displayed through volunteering at many events with PSYV such as local Gala days to national events such as The Royal Military Tattoo, and European championships working with young people and families. She is well-known for attending any event given and although some events can be during poor weather, tiring or boring, she always asks if more can be done.
Her determination and commitment to the group is also reflected in how she aims to make a difference to others. Hollie is recognised for her positive energy; dancing around, encouraging others to be happy, making people smile and overall making sure everyone enjoys the event they are participating in. She also makes a difference in the group by identifying when others require assistance, and without embarrassment she assists them to complete the task. This makes Holly a well-respected member of the team and PSYV establish a strong team dynamic.
Holly has recently been accepted into Edinburgh University but ensured that she will be joining PSYV in Edinburgh to continue her voluntary work, and that whenever she is back home, she will still volunteer with the Dundee group. Well done on achieving a Saltire Summit Award Holly!
