Dundee City Disability Sport supports the development of sport and physical recreation for people of all ages with a disability in Dundee City. The organisation is looking for a Chairperson and Committee Members.
As Chairperson, you will lead the board in ensuring that it fulfils its responsibilities; you will optimise the relationship between the board and its staff/volunteers; take responsibility for managing the committee and the affairs of the branch; Oversee and guide all decisions taken by the committee and sub committees; In conjunction with the secretary, prepare and present the annual report; Liaise with the secretary on the agenda for each meeting and approve the minutes before they are circulated. Be completely familiar with the constitution, branch rules, committee procedures Liaise with the Treasurer to ensure that funds are spent properly and in the best interests of the branch; Help to prepare and submit any statutory documents that are required (e.g. OSCR Annual Return, grant aid reports) If unable to attend any committee meetings, a written report should be sent to the meeting and the Vice Chairman briefed on the agenda
As a Committee Member, you will be responsible for attending committee meetings and reporting back to appropriate members with matters arising from meeting. When unable to attend meetings, send apologies along with a short report to the Secretary for the minutes. Complete trustee’s declaration. Be completely familiar with the constitution, clubs/organisation committee procedures and the organisation’s rules and regulations. Vote on matters when asked to and attend EGM and AGM meetings. Support the organisation to ensure Minimum Operating Standards are kept up to date and complete; be part of sub groups of the committee when required (ie funding and events calendar subgroups). Support the chairperson in the work of the board and organisation.
