The Prince’s Trust are a UK charity which aims to work with the most excluded young people aged 13 – 30, engaging them in personal development opportunities, which should lead them to taking responsibility for their lives. We ensure best quality outcomes for the young people we help and create an environment where staff and volunteers perform at their best.

As a Literacy, Language and Numeracy (LLN) Specialist Assistant, you will help young people on Prince’s Trust programmes develop their literacy, language and numeracy skills and confidence.

This role will involve:  Helping young people with literacy, language and numeracy activities that occur naturally within our programmes. E.g. helping a young person write a CV during an employability workshop; Cascading best practice strategies and resources to other volunteers and Prince’s Trust staff members, via email, or in person at Prince’s Trust events; A good understanding of local LLN provision and being a specialist point of contact for other volunteers and Prince’s Trust staff members; Where appropriate, develop and deliver standalone specialist support workshops or 1-to-1 sessions for young people. For example, a ‘brush up your business maths’ workshop. For more information, please email volunteer@volunteerdundee.org.uk.
