I started my journey with Volunteer Dundee as an admin volunteer in 2014, when the organisation was still known as the Volunteer Centre, I am now the Project Support Worker for Dial-OP and Sources of Support. I’ve been in post for 2.5 years now and thoroughly enjoy the variety the projects offer. We provide an information line, telephone befriending and morning call service for adults and their carers in the Dundee to help combat isolation and loneliness.

My role involves a bit of everything, from back office administration to service delivery, volunteer recruitment and outreach activities, no two days are ever the same so I’m never bored.

I firmly believe in the company ethos that volunteering changes lives and helps to make Dundee a better place. I feel privileged in my role to see first-hand just how much of a difference our volunteers make in people lives’ and how much the volunteers themselves get from their role.

When I first joined Volunteer Dundee I was studying Administration and IT at Dundee & Angus College, I’ve since completed my HND and am now studying for a BA Business Management degree with Robert Gordon University. I’m a bit of a geek at heart and love playing around with spreadsheets or doing research.

I don’t really have a lot of free time at the moment but when I get some I tend to spend it with the family, having fun days out or catch-ups with the older kids over a glass of wine. With 5 daughters and 8 going on 9 grandchildren it takes a bit of organising to get us all together, but high days and holidays are mad.

I’m a bit of a jack of all trades so if you’re looking for info and not sure where to find it or having problems with MS Office, give me a shout.
