Mid-Lin Day Care provides day care facilities for older people in Dundee. The Centre helps alleviate social isolation and provides support which helps older people to remain living independently for longer.

The service users have transport to and from the centre provided, along with nutritious three course lunches. Activities and live entertainment bring enjoyment and stimulation to our service users as part of our activities programme. Mid-Lin now operates with 9 staff and 40 volunteers caring for a wide range of needs through physical and mental debility including late stage dementia.

These are busy times at the Centre. They now have 3 minibuses which safely collect older people in the morning and take them home at the end of the day. They need more volunteer drivers and escorts for the extra runs the minibuses will make. Mid-Lin are also in particular need of Carers to help at the Centre, especially on Thursdays which is their busiest time but which they have the fewest volunteers for.

The Centre has been the victim of its own success with its volunteer development as many of its volunteers have gone on to paid employment.
