Volunteer Louise Blakeman from Barnardo’s will be receiving a Saltire Summit award at the upcoming Youth Volunteering Awards.

Despite only volunteering for 14months Louise has volunteered for over 200 hours – through various roles such as taking part in school holiday activity days, group work, befriending and recruitment group support. Louise goes above and beyond her role by being flexible, able to take part in a few roles and offering more of her time to help Barnardo’s when they require extra support. By Louise giving the service so much of her time, she has supported a number of young people; allowing them to build confidence, interact with peers and experience new activities.

As a leader Louise is friendly, approachable and very supportive towards new staff and volunteers. During activity days she is known for being proactive and confident in providing support to newer staff and volunteers all whilst encouraging the young people. Finally, Louise inspires others and makes a difference to Barnardo’s through her positive attitude – she regularly shares her passion for volunteering and is great at providing feedback on sessions.

Louise is an asset to her team and we would like to congratulate her on her Saltire Summit award!
