NHS Tayside at Ninewells Hospital are looking for volunteers.

You will provide a welcome to people coming into the Advice Centre, signposting them to the information or service they require. Information may be welfare benefits; money and debt problems; housing; information for carers or volunteering opportunities.

Key Tasks include providing a friendly face and practical help for enquiries. Signposting where further help or information can be obtained. Ensure leaflets are displayed and stock levels maintained. Respond to enquiries- phone and in person. Use IT to access and source relevant information. Assist with opening and closing procedures. Administration – photocopying information and printing.

Good listening and communication skills. Able to chat confidently with callers putting them at their ease. Good phone manner. Able to work without direct supervision. Basic computer skills (use of Internet/email). Team player. Maintain confidentiality.
