Dundee Volunteer and Voluntary Action’s Peer Recovery Network are pleased to announce that they were successful in obtaining funding from Dundee Community Innovation Fund to set up a 6-month pilot for a recovery support line for anyone struggling in recovery from substance and alcohol use. The Chit Chat Recovery support line will launch on Monday 11th May 2020.
Providing a recovery helpline where individuals can access support, information or just chat about how they are feeling, can provide immense worth, feeling valued but most importantly they will be able to feel someone cares and willing to support them in their recovery.
The Chit Chat Recovery Helpline will provide a friendly ear for sign posting but more importantly a service where on the other end of the phone is someone who has been there, understands the trigger urges and emotions that they are experiencing. The phone lines will be manned by Peer Workers and Volunteers who all are in recovery themselves and who have all undertaken their Smart Recovery Facilitation training along with being trained in ASIST.
Attached is the leaflet ( hard copies will be available next week and if you require any please let me know. Referrals are also welcome and attached is the referral form. If someone has little or no credit as long as we have their number we will phone them back . The phone lines will be open Monday to Friday 10am to 2pm and at weekends 12 to 2pm.
