Terrence Higgins Trust are the UK’s leading HIV and sexual health charity. We support people living with HIV and amplify their voices, and help the people using our services to achieve good sexual health.
They currently have 3 opportunities:
Clinic Receptionist
Support the delivery of rapid HIV testing at clinical settings operated by Terrence Higgins Trust Scotland, Along with sexual health services operated by our partner organisations. Welcome service users, attend to their immediate needs before and after the testing process; ensuring their privacy and dignity is maintained at all times.
Mass Events Volunteer
As a Mass Event Volunteer, we would require you to come along and fly the flag of THT. This may include marching in Pride event, fundraising at theatres, sports venues or bucket shaking in the city square for World Aids day (1st Dec). For Pride events, if you are passionate about the LGBT community, you can support our cause by wearing a THT branded tshirt, wave a placard and march with us promoting our #Can’tPassItOn campaign whilst having a huge amount of fun! (Perth Pride 10th Aug, Dundee Pride 21st Sept) Fundraising is also a lot of fun, from shaking our buckets at sporting venues, World Aids Day, recently we collected at HM Theatre in Aberdeen after performances.
Health Promotion Assistant
Support the delivery of open days, events and presentations with the following: Promote HIV and STI testing; Distribute Health Promotion Resources; Assist with surveys and collation of statistical information; Complete contact records; Assist with mailings and information updating; Delivering venue promotions in conjunction with workers to promote particular themes and campaigns; Supporting the delivery of outreach sessions to engage people in discussion, make referrals & distribute resources; Help with support groups, contributing to group activities; raising & continuing discussion to create a positive environment; To assist with the production, distribution and display of information and promotional materials; Assist with surveys and collation of statistical data; and Maintain an up to date knowledge of current issues, information and good practice.
