By Your Side is a peer support service delivered by Volunteer Dundee and Macmillan that offers those with cancer an opportunity to speak to someone who has experienced cancer themselves in the past. This service has been designed by a group of people affected by cancer in Dundee.

As a peer supporter, you would be matched with a service user based on a variety of factors, and helped to arrange and attend around three one-to-one meet-ups in local venues.

You will have lived through cancer yourself, finished treatment, and feel ready to use your experience to help others.sharing in a way that supports, empowers and brings hope to others. (The training sessions will help you to explore this.) Excellent listening and communication skills, and be able to initiate and sustain trusting relationships.
