University student Zach Isabella has been short-listed for this year’s Young Volunteer of the Year Award.

Zach has been nominated for his commitment to volunteering at Morgan Academy. Zach started a University placement at the school last August, but continued to go in on his days off and carried on volunteering when his placement ended in December. Since beginning his placement, he has been involved in developing volunteer opportunities for all Morgan pupils. In doing this, he set up a lunchtime drop-in for pupils, organised a school activity and ran a volunteer recruitment event during health week.

Zach is a very passionate and driven volunteer, and has made a big difference by ensuring that volunteering is accessible to all. As a result, he has raised awareness of the benefits of volunteering and many of the senior Morgan Academy pupils now volunteer in the local community.

We would like to wish Zach the best of luck at the upcoming Youth Volunteering Awards!
