CLIC Sargent is the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people, and their families. We provide clinical, practical, financial and emotional support to help them cope with cancer and get the most out of life. We are there from diagnosis onwards and aim to help the whole family deal with the impact of cancer and its treatment, life after treatment and, in some cases, bereavement. Today, 10 children and young people in the UK will hear the shocking news that they have cancer.

Being a CLIC Sargent Speaker means being the face of the charity. You will become known for your effective, informative and interesting presentations on our work. This is a flexible role, and will largely involve presenting at evenings and weekends, or as and when a group requires a talk.

The role is a proactive one, with a focus on developing relationships with new supporters, and can include – Promoting the work of CLIC Sargent by organising and giving talks and presentations; Proactively approaching local companies, groups and organisations in order to organise speaking opportunities; Collecting cheques from community groups, businesses and organisations – saying thank you and giving a talk on behalf of CLIC Sargent.

Experience of public speaking is desirable but not essential
